If you have a Sun Devil living on campus this semester, University Housing recently sent out an email with more information on spring move-out, Ditch the Dumpster, Summer Housing options and more.
Here are excerpts from the email to ASU students, below (Sun Devils should also review the Housing move-out guide and website to ensure a smooth and effective move-out):
Residence Hall Closing Date
Your License Agreement is valid through 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025. All residents are required to be moved out prior to noon on May 10, 2025. Should you have any questions regarding the date, please connect with your Community Director immediately.
Sun Devils who wish to stay on campus this summer and are enrolled in, in person, on ground summer classes (iCourses do not count) and/or are participating in an ASU-sponsored program/job, are eligible to apply for Summer Housing available on all of our campuses. You will be required to provide documentation of your ability to meet the above requirements.
All Summer assignments will cost $1,890 for the Summer 2025 term (single shared). Application deadline is April 15, 2025. Applications received after April 15, 2025 are not guaranteed housing for the summer. Students who do apply by April 15 will not be required to check out of their housing assignments by May 10, 2025.
If you are applying to live on campus this summer, it is critical that you are available on designated move-in/move-out dates and times. You will be responsible for moving your own belongings. The summer housing application should be live on your housing portal now. Preferences are not guaranteed (building, campus, room type).
Students who will not be living on campus this fall, but are approved to stay for summer are required to move-out from their summer assigned rooms on 07/15/2025, regardless of enrollment in Session B courses.
Bike Tagging
Bike Tagging will begin immediately after move-out. All bicycles left behind and parked on each ASU campus will be impounded as abandoned property during the Parking and Transit Services bike sweep. Please plan accordingly and make sure to take your bike home to avoid collection.
Shipping or Storage Needs
Looking for convenient and affordable summer storage? University and Student Services (USS) is the preferred partner for ASU Summer Storage making move-out a breeze. The process is quick and easy:

University Student & Services Rentals
If you are currently renting a MicroFridge and/or a Water Cooler from USS, they will be picking up water coolers in mid-late April and all Microfridges will be picked up after move-out is complete.
When these coolers are picked up, you will be left with a few cases of bottled water in its place:
3 jug/mo plans = 4 cases of water
4 jug/mo plans = 5 cases of water
5 jug/mo plans = 6 cases of water
MicroFridges
Please empty and unplug this unit at least 48 hours prior to your departure. Your Microfridge must be emptied, cleaned, defrosted AND doors left open. Please keep the unit inside your room. All units MUST be ready by May 10, 2025. We do not offer summer rentals. Pickup will take place May 12 – 16, 2025.
Ditch the Dumpster
Ditch the Dumpster makes it easy to move out of your residence hall without sending unwanted or unused materials to the landfill. Donations divert waste and provide jobs and materials to the local economy.
Donate clothing, bedding and small household items in the outdoor donation bins outside of residential halls. Donate furniture, refrigerators, non-perishable food items, hygiene and tightly sealed cleaning supplies inside your residence halls.
Almost anything can be donated or recycled. Ditch the Dumpster will be available in your hall from April 28 – May 10, 2025.
