Sending your student off to college is both exciting and bittersweet. As a parent, you want to support them through this transformative phase. Here's how you can nurture their identity development and the Student Success Center's role in group coaching.

1. Embrace Diversity:

Encourage your student to appreciate and learn from diverse perspectives on campus. This fosters open-mindedness and a welcoming community.

2. Foster Intellectual Exploration:

Urge your student to explore various subjects, challenging their beliefs and expanding their understanding of the world.

3. Facilitate Self-Reflection:

Encourage self-discovery and introspection, helping your student align their choices with their authentic selves.

4. Embrace Multidimensional Identity:

Recognize the complexity of your student's identity(s) and support their exploration of different facets, such as race, gender, and socioeconomic status.

5. Support Leadership and Activism:

Empower your student to make a difference through leadership roles and community service, promoting social change.
