As your student embarks on a new and exciting journey to become a Sun Devil, we’re proud to provide you with resources and opportunities to help ensure their success and your growth as an informed, engaged ASU family member. We know that having informed and supportive family members is key to student success. That’s why we created the New ASU Family Experience to provide you with essential resources, information and tips to help support your entire Sun Devil family during the transition to college. Your experience during this three-part family experience will parallel your student’s participation in the ASU New Student Orientation Experience, and give you the tools you need for a successful transition. Step 1- ASU Family Essentials: Family Essentials covers information to get you and your student started on their transition to ASU. We encourage you to review all the information below and use the Family and Student Action Item lists to keep track of necessary tasks. Step 2 - Family Orientation Sessions: These programs are essential for learning what to expect as your student becomes a Sun Devil and connecting you directly to ASU staff to get your questions answered. We encourage all families to register for a Family Orientation Session and attend after your student has attended their Academic Orientation Session. Designed to help you support your student’s transition to ASU and to connect you to your new ASU Family community, these virtual sessions are hosted live and feature Q&As with ASU staff from across the university, details about your student’s next steps and information about essential family resources. Each session also includes a break-out to connect with staff from your student's academic college to learn more about their academic experience and available resources and programs.
