Last summer, Sun Devil Swim & Dive Head Coach Bob Bowman and his staff were grappling with the prospect of running a collegiate swim and dive program in the midst of a pandemic, which meant taking a year off from competing and relying on virtual workouts and Zoom meetings to guide the way. However, Bowman, his staff, and their athletes stepped up to the challenge as 17 Sun Devils reached the Olympic Qualifiers, including two incoming Sun Devils, Jarod Arroyo and Leon Marchand, that qualified for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Bowman is also there, serving once again as a member of USA Swimming's coaching staff. For more news on Sun Devil graduates, check out information on the Sun Devils in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
Sun Devil Women's Golf Associate Head Coach Michelle Estill will compete in the 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open, taking place July 29-August 1 at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Connecticut. The four-day, 72-hole event brings together the top female golfers over the age of 50, with several former LPGA Championships competing in the field. It is only the third edition of the event, part of the LPGA's Senior Tour. Read about her excitement and see Tournament Central here.
